Responsibilities This is a dual role that combines the duties and responsibilities of the Certified Nursing Assistant and Hospital Unit Coordinator. The purpose of this job is to provide flexibility to meet patient care needs and provide job mobility. Additionally, this job coordinates and facilitates the non-clinical activities of the patient care area through acting as a liaison with the public as well as nurse, physician, and ancillary staff enabling them to focus on quality care and patient satisfaction. This position provides direct patient care under the supervision of the RN. This position also provides support to nursing and physician staff by performing tasks and procedures that assist in the care and treatment of patients with illnesses and injuries. Organizes, replaces, and maintains inventory and supply level in the department. This role supports the work of nursing, EKG,physical therapy, occupational therapy, and respiratory therapy staff. Qualifications We require:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant (NA-C) required
  • Previous experience as a patient flow coordinator or patient care technician is preferred
  • Familiarity with VM clinical programs is preferred. Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, diagnostic tests/procedures, and medications.
  • Strong problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, and respond appropriately in stressful situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Proficient using a personal computer.
