seeking a Mid-Level Metallurgical Lab Engineer to join the team in
Everett, WA. - Position Responsibilities:
- Researches contractual and Boeing Quality Management System
requirements for applicability to specific proposals and program
processes and documentation
- Develops sections of quality metrics, design and production
certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company
and regulatory requirements
- Analyzes capability assessments to support supplier selection
activities
- Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes
are incorporated into product designs
- Performs data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test
readiness
- Review and understand specification and part standard
requirements to assess conformance of product being tested
- Ensure that discrepancies are properly routed through various
nonconformance and noncompliance systems
- Compiles performance reports and other statistical data to
ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
- Work under general supervision, must be able to operate
independently to meet the requirements of the organization
- Assists with the development and improvement of inspection or
test technique requirements via drawings, data sets, reports,
specifications and supporting data relative to metallurgical and
composite fastening systems
- Designs metallurgical and fastener joint tests and analysis
based on defined requirements
- Tests and validates part conformance via metallurgical mount
preparation and microscopic examination to operational and
functional design requirements
- Monitors suppliers' performance via laboratory examination and
on-site assessments to ensure conformance and compliance of
manufacturing and quality systems with requirements
- Resolves moderately complex problems with product conformance,
production anomalies and installation integration
- Researches and evaluates metallurgical and composite specific
technology advances for application to company business needs
- Participates with other members on project or program teams,
Management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering
solutions to meet group, organization, and company objectives This
position is expected to be 100% onsite. - The selected candidate
will be required to work onsite at the Everett, WA location. This
position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet
export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined
by 22 C.F.R. -120.15 is required. - "U.S. Person" includes U.S.
Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. - Basic
-Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an
accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science,
mathematics, physics or chemistry
- 3+ years of experience conducting test in a lab, production
and/or university environment Preferred Qualifications (Desired
Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical engineering, Materials
Science/Engineering or other related engineering discipline
- 2+ years of experience with mechanical testing equipment
(tensile, fatigue, torsion, bending etc.)
- Experience with programming and running testing software
applicable to mechanical testing Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical
education from an accredited course of study in engineering,
computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor)
and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an
equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET
accreditation is the preferred, although not required,
accreditation standard. Relocation: Relocation assistance is not a
negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the
immediate area or relocate at their own expense. Drug Free
