Up to $5,000 Sign On bonus, MA-C start at $25/hr and increases from there dependent on commensurate experience and internal equity.

Responsibilities
Virginia Mason Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic is seeking a certified Medical Assistant in our amulatory clinic. Physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), also known as physiatry or rehabilitation medicine, aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. We use non-surgical regenerative medicine and new treatments to heal tissues and organs and restore function lost due to aging, disease, damage, or defects..

The Medical Assistant Certified is responsible for assisting the medical and nursing staff by performing clerical and clinical support tasks as directed. MA-C provides a setting for the pre- and post- non-surgical procedural care the patient will require that includes patient flow, rooming and taking medical histories, interviewing, screening and the work-up of patients, on-going patient assessment, maintaining clinic and exam room environment. Additional responsibilities include:


  • Understanding the difference between sterile/aseptic environments and unsterile environments.
  • Identifying distinct processes for cleaning of Exam Rooms
  • Anticipating the needs of the patient and clinician to facilitate the smooth and timely flow of the procedure.
  • Managing maintenance needs of equipment including regular maintenance and repairs, coordinating with vendors and Practice Manager as necessary.
  • Reporting repair needs to the manager and follows through to ensure repairs are completed as observed by the supervisor.
  • Demonstrating skill in observing and communicating patient needs.Assisting MD in designated activities 90-95% of the time.
  • Performing other related duties as needed and/or directed.
  • Demonstrating accountability and responsibility in daily performance of role.
  • Coordinating schedules for patients and providers, and other clinical tasks that support our providers in patient care.

    Qualifications
    - Graduation from an accredited medical Assisting program, With Washington State Department of Health medical Assistant - Certified (CM) or medical Assistant Interim (IC) credential required.
    - knowledge of third party payer requirements required.
    - Strong aptitude for detail, and ability to work independently, required.
    - Strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills required. skill in using a PC required.
