Job Description:
Responsibilities Registered Nurse - Psychiatric Unit (0. 75 FTE,
night shift) 12hr shifts, 60 hours per pay period No pediatrics
experience? No problem! If you have experience working with adult
populations, we will provide training on working with pediatric
patients and their families while leveraging the adult RN
experience you already have. We will personalize an orientation
just for you to set you up for success in the pediatric specialty
you are hired for. The Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit
(PBMU) at Seattle Children's is a 41-bed acute care, child and
adolescent, psychiatric facility providing acute crisis
stabilization through solution-focused intervention and connection
to community resources. $15K sign on bonus and relocation
assistance available!! (must have at least 1 year of inpatient
psychiatric exp for sign on bonus eligibility) As an integral
member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope
of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards
for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children's
policies/procedures and guidelines of care. Responsible for
providing safe, family centered patient care. Using the Nursing
Care Process, the RN is responsible for assessing, planning,
implementing and evaluating patient care in a collaborative method
with the patient and patient's family, significant others, and
members of the health care team. May be required to provide
supervision and delegation of tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed
Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing
Assistants, and others as defined by the State Administrative Code.
Assists in meeting Seattle Children's strategic goals by
incorporating the initiatives to support the strategic plans into
the daily work, i.e. Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI), ART,
etc. Requirements Required Education/Experience: - Graduate of an
accredited school of nursing Required Credentials: - Current
Washington State RN License, or other current state license that
the RN is required to work in. - Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
for Healthcare Providers is required for all positions. Pediatric
Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS), and
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of
BLS for Healthcare Providers. ACLS will not be accepted as a
substitute to the requirements listed above. Employees are
responsible for any costs (including time away from work)
associated with obtaining PALS or PEARS certification if it is not
a requirement of the position. - Nurses working in the following
areas are required to successfully obtain PEARS within 6 months of
employment, and subsequently maintain at all times: - Psychiatric
Unit - Nurses working in the Psychiatric Unit and Child Psych
Consultation are required to obtain Safety Care Certification
(internal training) within 3 months of hire. The Safety Care
training must be current at all times, i.e. annual training
completed prior to the expiration date. Note: nurses working as
Mental Health Evaluators for the Mental Health Emergency Department
program are NOT required to obtain Safety Care certification Min to
Max Hourly Salary$46.21 - $87.18 /hr Min to Max Annual
Salary$96,116.80 - $181,334.40 /yr Salary Information This
compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment
(2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by
multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and
expertise, and may vary within the range provided. The union pay

Seattle Children's offers annual incentive pay based upon
performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
