  • A hospital in Washington is looking for an experienced MedSurg RN for a travel contract.
  • The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience, hold an active BLS and WA License.
    • Job Requirements
    • 2 full years of experience as a MedSurg RN
    • Active BLS
    • Active WA License
    • Must have skills: Med/Surg, Ortho preferred
    • RNs are required to titrate drips
    • RNs must be able to read basic strips
      • Schedule Information
      • Orientation/education hours are not guaranteed during the first 2 weeks of your assignment. Expect 25+ hours.
      • Shifts & Scheduling: Days 0700-1930, NOC 1900-0730
      • 6 week cycles.
      • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
      • Holiday Requirement: yes
      • No call or standby requirement
      • Floating Requirements: Yes. 1st to float

        • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Orthopedic Patients: Hips, Knees, Shoulders, Spine, fractures General Medical/Surgical - pneumonia, heart failure, sepsis, chest pain, Gi Bleed, diabetes, electrolyte imbalances, kidney failure, UTI
        • Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Yes/Yes
        • Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes. 8-10:1
        • RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Cpap/Bipap
        • Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Yes. Yes, monitor techs
        • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Cardizem
        • Unit/Department specific orientation: EPIC training if not used system within year or fail Sphinx assessment. Online modules. 2 days unit specific orientation
