Job Description:
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse)

NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: High-risk
OB/Triage/OR circulating experience, surgical admission and
recovery Description: COVID vaccination is required. This unit has
11 Labor and Delivery beds and 7 antepartum/high-risk beds. There
are 2 OR suites and 3 triage beds available. The postpartum unit
has 24 beds. The facility sees approximately 4,000 births per year.
Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines to the best of our
ability. RNs are required to titrate drips, including Pitocin and
Insulin. Charge nurses are present on the unit. There are CNAs and
Surgical Techs assisting in the unit. OB coverage is in-house 24/7.
Neonatology or NICU advanced practice providers are available 24/7.
Respiratory therapy equipment, including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP, is
available for NICU patients. There is no telemetry on this unit,
and RNs are responsible for reading strips. The electronic fetal
monitoring system used is Centricity Perinatal. There is a weekend
and holiday work requirement. On-call or standby requirements may
be present. Nurses are expected to wear hospital scrubs.
Unit-specific orientation is provided. The hospital can cancel up
to 4 shifts during the assignment. Charting is done using an
electronic medical record system.
