About The Position Adelphi is seeking licensed Physicians (MD or
DO) to provide primary medical care and clinical oversight to
individuals in custody within a correctional facility in Whatcom
County, Washington State. The ideal candidate will have experience
in correctional, public health, or underserved clinical settings
and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality,

Compensation: $$135-$155/hour Requirements MD or DO degree from an
accredited medical school Active and unrestricted license to
practice medicine in Washington State Board certification or
eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or equivalent
specialty Valid DEA registration and NPI number Minimum of 2 years
of clinical experience (preferably in correctional, public health,
or primary care settings) Familiarity with NCCHC standards and
relevant Washington State healthcare regulations Strong clinical
assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills Ability to pass a
comprehensive background check and drug screening Current CPR/BLS
certification (AHA-approved) Responsibilities Deliver primary and
urgent medical care to individuals in custody. Conduct intake
physicals, manage chronic illnesses, and perform follow-up
assessments. Respond to medical emergencies and acute care
situations promptly. Prescribe medications and oversee medication
management protocols. Collaborate with nurses, physician
assistants, mental health professionals, and custody staff.
Document all clinical encounters accurately and promptly in the
Electronic Health Record (EHR). Participate in mortality reviews,
quality improvement efforts, and clinical case reviews. Ensure
compliance with NCCHC standards and all applicable local, state,
and federal healthcare regulations. Support infection control
initiatives, detoxification monitoring, and chronic care
