Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit Float Pool Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Med-surg experience, PCU/Stepdown level experience Description: The position requires a Registered Nurse in a Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit Float Pool. Client will deduct state taxes accordingly. The clinical profile will be reviewed, and the manager will conduct interviews. Travelers may be required to float to multiple facilities as necessary. A general hospital orientation will be required prior to starting in the unit. The float pool includes various medical and surgical units. Patient ratios are typically 4-5 patients for Med-Surg and 3 patients for a Progressive Care Unit. Must be familiar with common diagnoses including post-operative surgical patients, strokes, and chronic heart failure. Experience with titratable drips is sometimes required. Charge nurses do not act as house supervisors and may not always take an assignment. There are nurse aids available on the unit. Remote cardiac monitoring is provided, and RNs will read strips. Self-scheduling is allowed, with weekend requirements every other weekend. The hospital has a cancellation policy where they can cancel a limited number of shifts. Charting is done through a specific electronic health record system.
