Job Description:
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor
and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12
Experience: Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience
required. License: Compact License or single state license
acceptable. Certifications: BLS and NRP required, AWHONN
Intermediate preferred. Must-Have: Epic experience is strongly
preferred. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in
the Labor and Delivery specialty. The nurse will care for adult
women during childbirth. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:1. The
unit consists of 7 labor beds, 3 triage beds, 2 PACU, and 16
mother-baby rooms. Weekend work may be required. The nurse may need
to float within the hospital as needed. The unit supports
interdisciplinary services including respiratory services, social
services, and pharmacy. Candidates must have the ability to assist
with both high-risk deliveries and routine procedures. The nurse
will provide discharge teaching and support breastfeeding as well.
Experience with maternal and neonatal resuscitation is essential.
Other required skills include administering medications and IV
management. Knowledge of various maternal conditions such as
pre-eclampsia and postpartum hemorrhage is necessary. The position
involves collaboration with a team to ensure the highest level of
patient care.
