Nurse Manager - Heart And Vascular Clinic Swedish Medical Group is looking for a Nurse Manager (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Heart And Vascular Clinic at Swedish Cherry Hill located in Seattle, WA. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the activities, supervision, management and direction of the clinical operations of the department in accordance with organizational and department philosophy and goals. This position will assist the Director and Clinic Administrator in maintaining the highest degree of clinical and operational performance of the department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for providing leadership to nursing staff (RN's, MA's, HCA's, Externs, Students, etc) and function as a resource for physicians, staff and patients. Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and nursing services, analyzing appropriate internal and external data and information to identify opportunities for improving services and patient outcomes. Provides leadership, direction and guidance to clinical staff. Coordinates work flow and assignments to ensure the most efficient and effective use of staff and resources. Coordinates and maintains the required training and skills of staff. Champions pro-active employee relations, manages conflict and/or change towards productive outcomes. Strives for continuous improvement and business results that meet/exceed every customer/patients expectation. Is a role model for service excellence and builds teams that collaborate with others to serve and exceed the expectations of our patients. Ensures quality of care to patients and families represents "best in class". Conducts periodic staff meetings to ensure staff is kept abreast of organizational goals, initiatives, policies and procedures. Orients and mentors new staff members. Ensures availability and operation of necessary equipment and supplies for patient care. Responsible for operating within assigned budget. Promotes the safety and well-being of all patients and employees within the department. Qualifications: Education: Graduate of accredited school of registered nursing Licensures/Certifications: Current Washington State RN license. CPR certification. Current BLS certification required or to be obtained at clinic expense within one month of hire. ACLS certification preferred. BSN or MSN preferred Experience and Skills: Previous charge nurse experience and/or 2 years relevant leadership experience preferred Proactively takes ownership for serving the customer, team and organization, for achieving goals and for resolving problems. Consistently does whatever it takes to ensure individual, departmental/team and organizational excellence. Willingly adapts to changing work demands and work environment. Ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests Ability to resolve conflicts among staff and work collaboratively with department director, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team. Demonstrates exceptional customer service and interacts effectively with physicians, patients, residents, visitors, staff and the broader health care community. Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally, as well as to interact in a professional manner with colleagues, patients, families, and visitors Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks under pressure. Strong organizational skills. Capable of managing highly confidential information. Demonstrated PC skills, i.e. proficient with MS Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, physicians and other staff members.
