member of the Interventional Radiology care team, you will be part
of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of specially trained
professionals dedicated to being the quality leader, center of
innovation, and west coast center of choice for interventional
radiology . This team is made up of interventional radiologists,
allied healthcare professionals, registered nurses, interventional
radiology technologists and medical assistants. These team members
are joined by anesthesiologists, surgeons, gastroenterologists, and
many others who work to treat patients with a wide variety of
conditions and diseases. The Interventional Radiology team has two
state-of-the-art endovascular procedure rooms in the Jones
Pavilion, in addition to performing CT-guided procedures in the
main radiology site of care. In this setting, the registered nurse
is responsible for providing safe, effective nursing care during
pre-, intra- and post procedure phase, including moderate sedation.
The nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care
needs and collaborate with the members of the health care team.
This nurse must demonstrate critical thinking skills, decisive
judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast
paced environment. Some of the procedures performed by
Interventional Radiology team include (but are not limited to):
Vascular based interventions:
- Angioplasty and stenting for peripheral vascular disease
- Embolization for GI bleeding
- Interventional Oncology (chemo-embolization, microwave
- Transjuglar Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS)
- Interventional neuroradiology (stroke treatment, coiling,
stenting, treatment of AVMs) Non-Vascular based interventions:
- Ultrasound and CT guided biopsy
- Ultrasound and CT guided drainage
- Percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage (PTBD)
- Percutaneous catheter manipulation and exchanges
- Current WA State RN license is required.
- 1 or more years recent RN experience with acute care
- CPR certification is required every two years or as specified
by the work.
- Other certifications may be required for specialty areas.
Preferred Qualifications: ACLS and BSN Strongly preferred. Virginia
