Job DescriptionOverview: Assesses the educational and training needs of employees in order to meet skill and competency requirements of jobs required by regulatory agencies, and plans and implements appropriate learning opportunities to meet those needs. Evaluates the effectiveness of delivered training programs utilizing quantitative and qualitative measurements. Scope of work includes developing and implementing programs for management, orientation of new employees to the organization, and supporting employee development programs. Participates in process improvement to determine training gaps within the team; identifies additional training needs, synthesizes research and findings to present training needs to management and execute training to staff. Implements professional development, continuing education and training initiatives ensuring consistent practices, sustainable programs, and employee, customer and patient satisfaction. Oversees Quality Control program and leads process improvement efforts. Assesses competency to ensure compliance with safety, infection control and regulatory standards, coaches for improvement. Researches and develops new procedures using knowledge of Health-care Industry standards. Responsible for coordinating and facilitating the CHEST (Certified Health-care Environmental Services Technician) program for staff. The program has the potential to make a positive impact on infection rates, costs, quality of care, patient experience and outcomes. #LI-NC1 Requirements Required Education/Experience: - AA degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience - Two (2) years work experience in healthcare, hotel or other equivalent housekeeping experience - At least two (2) years supervisory or lead experience Required Credentials: - N/A Preferred : - At least two (2) years supervisory or lead experience that includes training - Three (3) or more years work experience as an inpatient unit housekeeper in a healthcare environment - Bachelor of Arts degree in Business, Health Management, Hospitality Management, or related field - Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) or Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) - Bilingual Skills - Experience managing culturally diverse groups of staff - Experience with JCAHO, DNV, Department of Health, or other regulatory auditing agencies. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Knowledge of training techniques. PC windows-based applications, and proficiency using Outlook & Word- Knowledge of hazardous waste handling and emergency response procedures- Knowledge of budget/financial management and quality improvement techniques- Knowledge of performance management techniques & change/transition management- Team building and problem resolution skills & Coaching and mentoring skills- Strong communication skills (written and oral) in the English language- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships- Ability to effectively prioritize own work and work of assigned staff.
