SUMMARYThe Merchandising Assistant works within the Merchandising team on a range of tasks, processes, testing, communication, and other initiatives within the department. The Merchandising Assistant will largely focus on supporting the Merchandising team with vendor onboarding, sku-set up, price changes, reporting, and additional ad-hoc requests. The position will require frequent communication with the Merchandising team, supporting teams, vendors, and distributors. The Merchandising Assistant plays a crucial role in safeguarding site execution and finest quality shopping experience through website enhances.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Assist Merchant and Merchandising Associates with vendor meetings and communication, product analysis, onboarding, reports, and catalog maintenance.
  • Work collaboratively and form joint partnerships with Merchants, Analyst, Logistics, Accounting, Marketing, other departments, and vendors within and outside of his or her function to achieve goals, simplify processes, reduce costs, prevent loss, and to ensure that work is completed safely, accurately, and on time.
  • Generate and distribute weekly reports recapping business within the category
  • Manage the entire life cycle of a SKU, including but not limited to product imagery, product attributes, and any additional assets
  • Work with Merchants to strategize and influence site execution of category offers
  • Review the site daily with customer-first mindset; identifying white space and presenting opportunities within to better drive conversion
  • Identify discrepancies within internal processes and provide insight into better practices that improve workflow across the organization
  • Work cross-functionally with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Brand Creative teams to manage, maintain, and oversee the timetable of product launches and the on-site functionality
  • Review daily reports, including the receiving summary, DC problem receipt and slow-moving titles report and take appropriate action to resolve issues.
  • Draft and maintain marketing contracts and implement online marketing initiatives.
  • Act as a main point of contact for Site Merchandising as related to testing
  • Ensure all deadlines are metBASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, merchandising, or related field from an accredited program required; additional education in retail merchandising, buying, marketing, and business analytics preferred
    • 1-2 years of related professional experience preferred, ideally in a digital-first environment or ecommerce business; closely related work experience may be used as a substituteMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES
      • Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Access, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel; writing formulas and creating flexible, detailed, accurate spreadsheets
      • Proficient analytical, written and verbal communication skills
      • Proficient quantitative analysis, financial analysis, and budget forecasting skills
      • Proficient vendor or external partner management
      • Proficient ability working with financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
      • Proficient relationship building skills, including the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the organization, and leverage influential leadership
      • Ability to recognize discrepancies/errors in written/recorded data/information including the ability to initiate and respond to work errors in a professional manner, working collaboratively and cooperatively with others
      • Working presentation skills to effectively present information to an audience of varying responsibility within the company
      • Proficient ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency and ease
