We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.We are looking for an experienced tax professional to lead indirect tax policy, planning, and controversies, unclaimed property, property taxes, international VAT/GST compliance and Global Supply Chain business planning.As an Indirect Tax Director, you will---
--- lead the work group and develop organizational capability to support US and International indirect tax, controversies, unclaimed property and property taxes
--- set forth tax policy, tax law research, and impacts of changing legislation and rulings
--- set strategies for the team by skillfully anticipating emerging risks and opportunities
--- represent Starbucks in efforts to educate and influence government lawmakers and policymakers relating to indirect and business tax laws (e.g.,state and local trade and legislature representatives.)
--- apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and M & A activities -
--- prepare, communicate and educates businesses and teams on changes in policies and practices within the organization
--- collaborate and be an exceptional partner to business and cross-functions
--- would possess strong tax technical knowledge, research skill, writing skill and experience which meet responsibilities of the function -
--- drives continuous improvement efforts of team to maximize efficiency and scalability for functional operations -
--- provide partners with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective team
-We'd love to hear from people with:
--- 12 years indirect tax experience in consulting/service provider firms and/or in large, multi-national companies in private sector -
--- Progressive experience with multi-jurisdictional indirect tax laws, rules and business application. -
--- Proven ability to research and communicate technical tax requirements clearly to non-tax colleagues in an effective manner -
--- Progressive experience managing multi-jurisdictional indirect tax functional responsibilities, issues, people, technology requirements and external resources for large company -
--- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting, business or finance or other related fields -
--- JD or masters/graduate degree in tax, law, business preferred -
--- Certified Public Accountant, licensed attorney and/or Institute of Professionals in Taxation CMI certification preferred
