A transportation company that specializes in the barge transportation industry is currently adding a Freight Specialist to their team! This position is full time, temporary-to hire and offers excellent benefits upon permanent hire including a tuition assistance program, and opportunities for growth.In this position, you will interact with CDL drivers and validate freight, tracking and process freight documents. Perfect for someone looking to expand their customer service experience. Freight Specialist Job Duties:

• Verifying of inventory on freight trucks (outdoors 90% of your shift)
• Gathering data from the truck drivers as they come through and documentation of orders
• Counting and measuring freight from containers
• Friendly customer service You will be successful in this role if you are detailed-oriented and enjoy working outdoors. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:00pmFreight Specialist Requirements:
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel and Legible Penmanship)
  • Willing and able to work in all the elements
  • Strong attention to detail (verification errors can be costly)
  • Experience with distribution paperwork is a plus!
