Position: Payroll Specialist Location: Seattle, WA Job Id: 247 of Openings: 0 The Payroll Specialist provides accurate and timely payroll processing, legal filings, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with payroll laws and regulations. The position prepares payroll files for processing to ensure timely payments to a variety of agencies for garnishments, collections, etc. The role also prepares and processes payroll related information and calculates earnings, adjustments, and retro-active payments. Essential Responsibilities:Prepares and processes payroll related information and calculates earnings, adjustments, retro-active payments for multi-state companiesProcess new hires/terminations and maintains employee data within ADP Payroll systemAfter interface is run daily, makes any changes in Kronos time & attendance for new hiresManages workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timelyEnsures accuracy of payroll related items for union employeesDefines standards and reusable approaches within the Payroll operational framework.Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reportsUnderstand proper taxation of employer paid benefitsProcess correct garnishment calculations and compliance management proceduresUses Kronos time and attendance system to process time records that are sent via interface to the ADP Vantage systemResearch and email appropriate audience of file issues between ADP and Kronos systemsAssist with ensuring compliances are met for unclaimed property payroll checksProcess accurate and timely year-end reporting (W-2, W-2c, etc.)Develop ad hoc financial reporting in ADP as neededProcess manual checks using ADP checkmate and ADP VantageTimely processing of non-benefit related deductions such as Union Dues, United Way, etc.Maintain basic filing system in a timely mannerEnsure accuracy on I-9 verification & entering data into e-verify system.Process employment verificationsMust have strong communication skills to effectively navigate interactions with employees and managers at all levels of the organization.Other job duties as assigned.Qualifications:Associates Degree preferred but not requiredCPP preferred but not required.3-5 years' experience processing multi-state payroll.Experience in processing high volume complex payroll in 8 statesExperience with Union CBA's (Collective Bargaining Agreements) preferredWorking knowledge of payroll best practices.Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel.Working knowledge Kronos timekeeping, ADP Vantage or similar ADP platformStrong work ethic and team player.High degree of professionalism.Ability to deal sensitively with confidential materialStrong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.Ability to communicate with various levels of management.Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.Must be able to work under weekly deadline pressures, quarter end and year end activities related to payroll accountingWork Environment:Exposure to computer screensRequired job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environmentThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderateAbility to work a hybrid work schedule (3 days in-office and 2 days from home)About Us: We know our employees are vital and integral to what makes our organization unique and successful.
