Position Complexities
The WaNPRC is a complex organization, with eight diverse units and
-150 staff, including professional, classified from 3 unions, part
time staff, and students. This requires an understanding of several
union contracts as well as overall University policies and
procedures that have to be incompliance with local, state and
federal authorities and oversight.
The HRA must be self-motivated and able to identify gaps and areas
that need improvement. These areas will then be presented to key
stakeholders for buy-in and on-going support.
Based on assigned delegation of authority, the HRA will exercise
independent decision-making that aligns with the integrity of the
organization and the University. The HRA must stay current and
informed of all UWHR policies and procedures as well as State and
Federal law, and actively integrate and implement them as needed.
The duties assigned to the HRA are highly sensitive and dynamic and
require the incumbent to be flexible, respectful, ethical,
supportive and discrete. The HRA will report to the Director of
Human Resources and Operations in the Office of Research.
Position Dimensions and Impact to the University
This position plays a critical role in supporting the
infrastructure and on-going needs of the WaNPRC. There are multiple
dimensions that impact the university at every level. This
individual will have key interactions with staff and academic
personnel to ensure that the WaNPRC is achieving its mission of
supporting strong science, ethical animal research, animal welfare
and compliance.

Human Resources Operations (50%)
Employee Management (35%)
Union Labor Relations (10%)
Special Projects and Other Duties (5 %)
Lead Responsibilities:
Mentorship & leadership support for all personnel
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct supervision for student helpers.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum

license/certification/registration.
