With therapies only in their infancy and BMS's continued investment in our Cell Therapy capabilities, the growth potential of this science, your career, and the ability to help patients are incredible.Responsibilities:* Design and execute complex experiments using sound scientific principles to support cell therapy SDM process development across multiple platforms.* Optimize and characterize unit operations for adoptive T-cell therapy process development through the measurement and control of pH, DO, mixing dynamics, media development, etc.* Utilize DOE to design and execute SDM and full-scale cell therapy process development experiments.* Analyze data from flow cytometry, cell functionality, or molecular assays.* Timely and thorough documentation and completion of electronic laboratory notebooks.* Author and review technical documents including protocols, technical reports, batch records, and Standard Operating Procedures.* Effectively communicate study objectives and summarize results within a cross functional team setting.* Evaluation of cell therapy manufacturing prototype devices.* Participate in appropriate regulatory filing activities.* Develop and transfer novel technologies to support multiple platform manufacturing processes.* Train operators or other engineers and scientists.* Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulations.Experience: * A degree in bio, mechanical, chemical engineering, or a related scientific field* Bachelors and 5 years of relevant experience or Masters and 4 years of relevant experience* > 4 years of mammalian or primary cell culture laboratory experience* Experience with mass transport, gas exchange, mixing dynamics, and/or media development in small scale cell culture* Well-developed PC skill level, including MS Windows 2000/XP, WIN10, Office Suite, and JMP* Experience in executing statistically designed experiments of increased complexity* Experience in analyzing data from multicolor flow cytometry, bioassays, and molecular assays* Experience with writing technical documents for interdepartmental use* Basic knowledge of cell therapy development* Demonstrated ability to effectively work in cross functional teams, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projectsIf you want to challenge yourself, accelerate your career, and give new hope to patients, there's no better place than here with our Cell Therapy team. At least 95% of the work is performed indoor in a temperature-controlled facility. The lighting level, air quality, and noise level are typical of an office environment.Work inside the laboratory involves operating typical equipment found in a biotechnology. They may include, but not limited to, handheld pipettes, centrifuges, liquid nitrogen storage, and other devices ranging in size from benchtop scale to a small room.This position is expected to handle biohazardous material found in a Biosafety level 2 environment derived from humans or other animals. Some work with hazardous chemical is also expected.Work inside the office involves using a standard laptop or desktop computer.This position is expected to be able to lift and carry to 40 pounds.
