In our pursuit of positively transforming the social-emotional well-being of 100 million children annually by 2028, Committee for Children is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer I to join our Seattle based team (majority of staff is currently working remotely throughout Washington state due to Covid-19). As the Senior Software Engineer I you will collaborate with other software engineers, product owners, and project managers to design and build a digital learning platform that will be used by teachers to present SEL concepts in their classrooms. As a Senior Engineer, you will serve as a technology leader for your team and help to mentor other engineers as we build this platform. Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with requirements, analysis, and design of our digital learning platform
• Establish strong partnerships with project managers and product owners to understand needs and communicate applicable solutions
• Build, test, deploy, and support services and applications that make up our digital platform
• Work as a leader in one or more technologies and/or languages, and mentor other engineers on your team
• Triage, reproduce, and fix identified and prioritized defects
• Other duties as assigned Position Qualifications
  • Highly skilled at building applications in at least one of our core stacks, .NET Core and/or React
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver solutions that meet high standards of performance and scale
  • Experienced in making enhancements to existing .NET, NodeJS, and React applications
  • A penchant for converting unknown and vague requirements into well-documented and understood solution designs and strategies
  • Strong communication skills to address risks, set timeline expectations, and impacts of defects and their resolution
  • Computer Science or similar software engineering degree, or equivalent industry experience of at least eight years Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
    • Mid-level knowledge of T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server
    • Experience with Cloud infrastructure and best practices, Azure experience preferred
    • Expertise with building and consuming APIs and microservices Organization-wide Essential Functions
