Responsibilities MISSION & SCOPE: The Accounting Manager responsibilities will be to review vendor contracts, determine collectability and recognize revenue in accordance with GAAP. As is required identify appropriate controls to prevent and mitigate identified risks in the execution of selling wireless technology. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Staff Leadership and Development
    -Manage Revenue Accounting team of four, ensuring all deadlines and tasks are done timely and with attention to high accuracy.
    -Help to build development of skills and capabilities of team members.
    -Ability to provide thoughtful leadership on all revenue accounting & carrier accounts receivable matters.
    -Work cross functionally to develop and implement best practices.
    -Hire, develop and train staff. Contract Review and Revenue Recognition
    -Audit vendor contracts and identify revenue components and risks to the business.
    -Work with vendors and drive resolution to collecting unpaid receivables.
    -Report on all customer returns and return types. Partnering with sales audit team to develop processes to reduce customer returns.
    -Prepare adhoc reconciliations with collection issues and/or exception issues, then follow up on.
    -Work to ensure collectability and contract compliance of all receivables.
    Review and Validate Customer Payments
    -Break out payments to match up with revenue accruals.
    -Work with Carrier Contact when statement file is inaccurate.
    Month-end Closing
    -Review all journal entries prepared by Revenue Accounting staff for accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with GAAP.
    -Coordinate analysis and documentation of monthly margin variances in the financial review process.
    -Review account reconciliations prepared by staff for appropriateness, and coordinate implementation of corrections when required.
    -Prepare financial analysis for various internal and external reporting requirements as required. Systems and Excel
    -Effectively use Excel to analyze large volumes of data and identify through analytics trends and variances. DIMENSIONS: Quantitative: Works as a team with Operations, Carriers and Wireless Merchandising team members.
    Qualitative: Satisfactory performance will ensure the timely resolution to problems to avoid having uncollected carrier dollars. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Interacts with Operations, Carriers and Wireless Merchandising team. Interactions must be professional and timely to ensure pull through of objectives to the field and carriers, to minimize commission losses. Promotes a positive internal image of Wireless Advocates by practicing effective and professional verbal and written communication. Positive interaction with all internal and external customers is required and essential. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: -BA in Accounting or Finance required.
    -Minimum of three years of accounting-related experience and a firm understanding of GAAP.
    -1-3 years of staff management.
    -Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred.
    -Proven Leader, show the ability to work as a mentor and help team grow.
    -Ability to analyze large volumes of data and provide actionable information.
    -Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with advanced MS Excel.
    -Proven ability to balance and prioritize multiple goals and tasks.
    -Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    -Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and successfully with people at all levels.
    -Good organizational skills with a proactive attitude.
