Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for Mid-Level Software
Engineers capable of contributing to all phases of the software
development lifecycle (requirements, architecture, implementation,
and verification) for our Everett, WA site.
Depending on skills, the individual will work in a number of areas
including Avionics, Electronic Subsystems, Environmental Controls,
Flight Controls, or Propulsion. - The individual will assist with
documenting of software requirements, architectures, algorithms,
interfaces and designs for software systems.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be
required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location
Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements,
algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into
a fully functional software system.
Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test
environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test
results to ensure software system requirements are met.
Performs software project management and software supplier
Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools
Executes and documents software research and development
Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains,
system-specific issues, processes and regulations.
Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to
ensure product and process conformance to project plans and
industry standards. Works under general direction.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements,
therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. - 120.15 is
required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent
resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science,
Mathematics or related technical field of study.
5+ years' experience in software engineering.
5+ years' experience with software development using either Java,
C++, or Python.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with concurrent software and distributed systems.
5+ years' experience in software development life cycles,
configuration management and best agile software engineering
5+ years' experience developing, documenting and maintaining
architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for
2+ years of experience in RTCA DO-178(B/C) Software Considerations
in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification.
1+ years' experience leading software development projects.
Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures,
requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software
Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of
processes, tools and metrics.
Experience using common software version control tools such as
Experience with Agile planning tool such as JIRA, TSF.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical
education from an accredited course of study in engineering,
computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor)
and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an
equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET
accreditation is the preferred, although not required,
