future.The Project Manager, Wireless Consulting applies technical
skills and knowledge to manage key wireless consulting deliverables
that meet project requirements and exceed client expectations. Work
consists of the design of a variety wireless communications systems
including Public Safety Radio Systems and in-building distributed
antenna systems (public safety and cellular).Your Key
ResponsibilitiesProject Involvement - approximately 85% of
time.Manages various Wireless Technology projects and tasks of a
size and revenue level appropriate to the expertise associated with
the staff level.Technology systems include but are not limited
to:
- In-building distributed antenna systems
- Emergency responder radio coverage systems
- Commercial cellular neutral-host systems
- 802.11 WLAN
- Land Mobile Radio Systems
- 700 MHz
- 800 MHz
- VHF
- UHF
- Public Safety Communications
- Microwave Backhaul
- Paging Systems
- Commercial Cellular Communications (4G LTE, 5G NR)Shares
knowledge with others by serving as a trainer, mentor, and
technical resource for wireless designers.Holds project team
members accountable for project deliverables, budget, and
schedule.Manages project targets for Scope, Schedule, and
Fee.Manages stakeholders' expectations.Periodically acts as Quality
Control reviewer on projects.Collaborates with practice and sector
leaders to obtain and disseminate technical knowledge.Effectively
delegates work to production support and design staff.Delivers
contract deliverables that meet required codes and quality
standards.Learning/Maintaining and Expanding Technical Skills -
approximately 4-5% of time.Develops knowledge of wireless
communication technologies, trends and the markets as they apply to
the various project types.Proactively pursues additional knowledge
in related disciplines by attending available internal and external
training.Meetings, initiatives, and projects - approximately 5-6%
of time.Attends in-house project and discipline meetings and out of
office client meetings.Actively participates in meetings,
initiatives, and projects that support Business Center and company
goals.Business Development/Marketing - approximately 3%-4% of
time.Nurtures existing client relationships and proactively pursues
opportunities for new business.Provides client consultation,
drawing on professional expertise and deep knowledge of Stantec's
Wireless Communications Consulting services.Develops and delivers
client presentations.Pursues project opportunities and initiates
projects.Attend and participate in industry
events.QualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsDemonstrated
understanding and implementation of the principles of project
management.Ability to manage clients, projects, and teams to budget
and schedule while meeting key stakeholder critical success
factors.Familiarity with, and ability to produce, project-related
documents and documentation standards required of a Project
Manager.Ability to integrate design elements with other disciplines
to deliver a coordinated design.Strong knowledge of applicable
codes and Technology standards (TIA, IEEE, NFPA, IFC)Deep
understanding and knowledge of various voice/data radio
technologies, 802.11 WLAN systems, public safety operations,
in-building distributed antenna systems, commercial cellular
network technology.Knowledge of government operations, public
safety operations, healthcare, higher education, and military
stakeholders and key decision-makers.Familiarity with and ability
to apply sustainable design principles within projects.Strong
client communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to apply
logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts
and ideas into projects.Functional knowledge of recent versions of
3D Building Information Modeling (BIM); in particular, Revit
MEP.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.Demonstrated
understanding of FCC proceedings and licensing processes as it
relates to VHF, UHF, 700 MHz, and 800 MHz public
safety.Demonstrated knowledge of Cellular Communications Services
including frequency bands utilized by the various carriers and
technologies deployed.Education and ExperienceBachelors' degree in
electrical engineering or related field plus 8 years related
professional experience; or equivalent combination of education and
experience and/or demonstrated skills.Experience delivering
wireless consulting and design services to Owners in diverse
markets including public safety, healthcare, commercial, data
center, higher education, civic and government.FCC GROL, IEEE WCP
certification preferred. EIT and/or PE, encouraged.Project
management training certification (Project Management Professional
certification, or equivalent).Auxiliary
QualificationsQualifications listed below, while not necessarily a
requirement for this position in each circumstance, provide
additional depth and value to the role.Experience with outdoor RF
Propagation modeling software (EDX or similar)Experience with
design documentation including ACAD, Revit and VisioExperience with
CSI Specification, specifically division 27 and 28.Experience
indoor RF Propagation modeling (iBwave, Ekahau or
similar)Experience with Spectrum AnalyzerKnowledge of specialty
calculations including FCC NIER and intermodulation
analysis.Familiarity with and ability to apply creative design
principles within projects.Office Location and ScheduleThis
position will exist at the Stantec location in Lynnwood, WA (other
locations will be considered on a case-by-case basis).This position
requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with some scheduling
