As a software engineer working on user interface design, you will be part of a team of developers, designers, and product managers who work hand in hand every day to conceptualize, design, and implement novel ways to present diverse types of media (music, podcast, video, etc), and control a growing and diverse lineup of hardware products.What You'll DoDevelop code, on Android and/or iOS, that will implement a new control experience for Sonos.Use your knowledge of modern user interface technology to work with designers and product managers, and arrive at the best way to present the UI.Select the right technologies to be employed in this new effort.Work on a widely used and sophisticated lineup of Android and iOS applications that incorporate media, Internet services, large data sets, and control of hardware devices.Work on UI running on a wide variety of surfaces, from phones to tablets to smart displays and televisions.Work on UI controlled by a variety of input devices, including touch and remote control, and collaborate with hardware designers to achieve the most usable overall result.Participate in user research to test concepts and hear directly from customers responding to the UI design.What You'll NeedBasic Qualifications3+ years professional experience developing applications for Android or iOS in Kotlin and Swift, as well as "native" code in C/C++.Experience working on an application that differentiates itself through the quality of its UI.Experience with current Android and iOS development tools (IDE, debugger, simulators, deployment of apps onto devices, etc).An openness to working with design professionals, and a willingness to iterate toward the best user interface in response to user feedback.A willingness to delve into and learn new areas.Preferred QualificationsExperience targeting a variety of Android or iOS device types, including phones, tablets, and TVs.Experience working in a commercial software development environment (source control, bug databases, working within a team of developers and with other functions such as Test and PM, etc).Experience building Android or iOS applications that connect to services over the Internet.Experience building localized/internationalized applications.#LI-RemoteYour profile will be reviewed and you'll hear from us once we have an update.
