service.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Interface Developer role is
responsible for all levels of front-end development on our
eCommerce and blog websites. Candidates will update existing
content and will need to be able to develop new features using
standard-compliant code.
- Develop New Features and Enhancements
- Build frontend enhancements and new frontend features for the
Shinola and Filson Magento websites that meet the requirements
specified through tickets, comps, wireframes, or other technical
documentation in an agreed-upon schedule.
- Best Practices & Coding Standards
- Understand, follow, and enforce best practices and coding
standards through regular code reviews.
- Ensure that code is written following Magento's coding standard
guidelines
- Look for opportunities to write code more efficiently,
lightweight, and share knowledge with the rest of the dev
team.
- Collaboration
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical colleagues and
vendors on eCommerce-related projects and issues in a timely
manner.
- Meet with internal teams to help identify and identify
solutions to technical problems related to the eCommerce
websites.
- When working on projects related to 3rd party services, be able
to confidently communicate with the vendor to work towards
resolutions.
- Quality assurance
- Thoroughly test assigned development tasks and projects (after
completion) for potential bugs and issues.
- Testing should occur on a staging environment before being
released to the production website and again on the production
website after the deployment.
- Where possible, have the project requester test and sign off on
the implemented functionality before planning a release to
production.
- [Senior Level] Provide guidance to other interface developers
on their work and ensure they are meeting the specifications of
their assigned tasks and projects.
- Troubleshooting
- Root-cause analysis & troubleshooting to and resolve frontend
issues related to the eCommerce websites.
- Identify areas of opportunity for frontend performance
improvements and be able to implement or lead the implementations
of these improvements.Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Graphic Design, or
similar field -preferred
- 2+ years' experience in a related field
- Soft skills: problem-solving, research, prioritizing, and
collaboration
- Hard Skills:
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working with web applications using JavaScript,
HTML, and CSS.
- Magento 2 experience preferred.
- Even better if you have experience in PhpStorm, Wordpress,
