Job Description:
- The IT System Administrator ensures the ongoing availability,
performance, security, and utilization of various business-critical
systems and technologies. -As with all members of this small IT
team, this role spans traditional support and engineering roles
occasionally providing service to end users while administering and
managing the life of his/her assigned technologies. -As needed,
responsibilities could also include server, endpoint, and mobile
device administration. Candidates should enjoy wearing many hats,
have a strong mix of technical and customer service skills, have
experience as a change-agent, and bring a passion for technology. -
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Act as a Microsoft 365 and Azure architect, expert, and change
agent.
- Lead project, support, and maintenance efforts in collaboration
with business and technical teams.
- Partner with the service delivery team to provide Active
Directory support.
- Administer host and workstation intrusion detection and
prevention systems.
- Administer Workstation virtualization technologies and MDM
solutions.
- Act as an enterprise expert providing systems support as needed
across the company.
- Lead all aspects of the product life cycle.
- Clearly communicate release content and value to all
stakeholders and leadership.
- Analyze new and existing products for performance and
efficiency improvements, both as part of a structured release
process, and as an ongoing process.
- Recommend emerging technical solutions. Influences the
selection of software product standards and the design of standard
configurations; makes significant contributions to technology
roadmaps.
- Provide support and expertise to cross-functional teams.
- Expected to identify and advocate for business process
improvement through the use of technology.
- Provide leadership, coaching and direction to departmental
staff necessary. CORE COMPETENCIES
- Microsoft Cloud Stack, Azure Active Directory, SharePoint,
Exchange, OneDrive, Teams, and MS Office.
- Windows 10 Workstation; Build, configure, troubleshoot, and
maintenance.
- Windows Server 2016 and 2019; current on-premises
infrastructure and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery
procedures, system performance-monitoring tools, Active Directory
(AD) and its services (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, etc.)
- TCP/IP and Windows networking.
- Collaboration with technical and non-technical team members and
all levels of business stakeholder.
- Punctual, highly organized, accurate and efficient. REQUIRED
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associates/Bachelor's degree in technology, computer science,
or equivalent experience.
- Candidates must have at least five (5) years of experience as a
systems engineer/administrator.
- Experience leading Microsoft 365 implementations, migrations,
or transformation efforts is required.
- Extensive experience contributing to a diverse service delivery
team is required.
- Experience with or knowledge of virtualization platforms is
required.
- Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator certification
preferred.
- Azure Administrator certification preferred. SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITY
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities. WORK
ENVIRONMENT
- This job operates in a professional office environment. -This
role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers,
phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. -Occasional
travel to and work in operating facilities for the purpose of
providing training and gathering data necessary for regulatory
reporting and database management. - PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- This is a full-time position. -Some flexibility in hours is
allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work
hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. -Occasional evening and weekend work may
be required as job duties demand.
- These work hours are "core" business work hours and are subject
to change depending on arrangements between Supervisor and
employee.
- Candidate must be available for after-hours support rotation.
TRAVEL
- May require up to 30% local travel (Portland to Bellingham).

- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and motor vehicle

- The full salary range for this position is $75,000 to $130,000.
People entering this job typically start between $75,000 to
$95,000, depending on direct professional experience, education,
qualifications, and geographic location.
- Our client provides a comprehensive benefits package to its
full-time Admin employees (and their families) that includes
medical with prescription coverage, HSA/FSA, dental, vision
reimbursement program, Life/AD&D, LTD, 401k (with employer
