Apple ML Infra team in AIML is looking for ML Infrastructure engineers to build and optimize various infrastructure pieces of our ML stack. You will get exposed to exciting technologies in areas including distributed data processing, large scale distributed training of models, the latest frontier in models for natural language processing and artificial intelligence, and the most advanced techniques to scale the systems to handle billions of requests and petabytes of data per day, and much more! The system we build help to power a variety of Apple products, including Siri, Spotlight, Safari, Messages and Lookup etc. As part of this group, you will work with one of the most exciting high performance computing environments, with petabytes of data, millions of queries per second, and have an opportunity to imagine and build products that delight our customers every single day. Key Qualifications Strong coding skills Strong background in computer science: algorithms and data structures Excellent interpersonal skills able to work independently as well as in a team Experience with training, serving and optimizing Large Language Models Experience with XLA/Compiler/CUDA Description - Build scalable and effective systems for serving deep learning models - Build and optimize distributed training approaches for deep learning models on ML accelerators such as GPUs - Build software that improves the rate of experimentation and helps people make better decisions about what to try next - Train, evaluate, and debug deep learning models for complex tasks - Develop tools and services for understanding the latest NLP/Image models Education & Experience BS, MS, Ph.D. in a related field , or equivalent experience Additional Requirements Nice to Have * Experience with popular training frameworks like tensorflow/pytorch/Jax for serving/training/optimization * Experience with GPU serving/optimization/training * Experience with model compression/quantization * Experience with distributed data processing * Experience with AWS Services such as Amazon S3 EC2 EKS / Kubernetes Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $144,500 and $250,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
