Overview
The American Institutes for Research (AIR) is seeking an Apprenticeship Senior Technical Assistance Consultant to join our team working to grow and diversify apprenticeship programs across the country. This position is located in the Workforce Program Area within AIR's Human Services Division.

For over 15 years, AIR has partnered with organizations at the national and state levels to advance apprenticeship as a talent development strategy in the U.S. We work with businesses and industry associations to design, register, and operate apprenticeship programs. We coach and support states and partners about how to grow apprenticeship and better align the apprenticeship, workforce development, and education systems. We also focus on conducting research and identifying promising practices; working with federal and state agencies to train partners, develop policy, and design TA initiatives; and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in apprenticeship. Candidates hired for the position may work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations.

Responsibilities
The individual will be an essential contributor to ongoing and future apprenticeship projects at the federal and state levels. Responsibilities may vary according to project and the candidate's area of expertise but could include:


  • Providing subject matter expertise on key elements of expanding and diversifying Registered Apprenticeship Programs.
  • Conducting outreach to businesses and workforce, education, and other partners to promote apprenticeship adoption and supporting sponsors to design, register, launch, and sustain programs.
  • Analyzing and identifying technical assistance needs for targeted audiences and developing activities and resources to meet those needs.
  • Leading the design and implementation of high-quality and innovative technical assistance activities (such as, but not limited to, in-person or virtual training, peer-to-peer learning activities, facilitated cohort-based learning, guides or toolkits, promising practices and case studies, online community of practices, etc.).
  • Delivering technical assistance to government, industry, workforce, education, and others through facilitation, coaching, and training.
  • Building collaborative relationships with clients and partners and identifying opportunities to support the growth of AIR's apprenticeship area of work.

    Qualifications
    Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
    • Apprenticeship subject matter expertise demonstrated through a minimum of 3 years of work experience directly focused on apprenticeship programs.
    • Experience designing and delivering technical assistance and training.
    • Experience with business development.

      -Skills:

      • Demonstrated ability to provide coaching and facilitation to multiple audiences, such as industry, state agencies, workforce development, and education partners.
      • Capability to lead teams to achieve results.
      • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when writing
      • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds and the ability to produce concise, high-level summaries and briefings accessible to broad audiences
      • Demonstrated professionalism in all aspects of the role.
      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to make sound business decisions.
      • Ability to work in a diverse team environment towards the common goal of providing exceptional services to clients.
      • Ability to act as a change agent to initiate and respond to change productively.
      • Capability to work well under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines in a demanding environment.
      • Highly organized with strong time management skills.

        Disclosures:
        Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position. Depending on project work, qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements.

        AIR's Total Rewards Program, is designed to reward our staff competitively and motivate them to achieve our critical mission. This position offers an anticipated annual salary of $126,000 - $145,000. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the institution and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the annual salary range for candidates that are based in the United States.
