Job Description:
iCloud Mail wishes to further integrate the services it provides
with the various devices that Apple's customers own. The position
will focus on this integration and will include Objective-C and
Swift application development, cloud service integration, testing,
deployment, and architectural design in a highly cross-functional
environment. Key Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years experience of iOS and/or Mac systems
software engineering with a focus on client/server provisions
- Excellent Objective C and/or Swift development and debugging
skills with a good working knowledge of developer tools
- Very comfortable with modern asynchronous coding styles
- Familiarity with SQL and security-conscious coding
techniques
- Demonstrated experience designing, building and maintaining
high-performance systems and frameworks
- Strong team player, with the ability and desire to take
ownership of novel problem spaces. Description This is an
opportunity to join a nascent team with the goal of providing new
features and functionality to iCloud customers by integrating
together the client-device and cloud domains as well as provide an
avenue for exploratory work as needed. As a key member on our team,
you are responsible for maintaining our technology stack and for
crafting new functionality. You are an extremely capable engineer
who have a strong background in building high-performance, scalable
and extensible systems. Your flexibility is essential to
implementing creative features on time with excellent quality, such
as the willingness to learn about the system by fixing bugs. The
successful applicant will have a strong background in system-level
engineering, the vision to create foundational work and build on it
to provide functionality, and the drive to successfully see tasks
through to completion. You love collaborating within the team and
with cross-functional engineering teams. In addition to crafting
efficient, testable, easy-to-maintain code, you recognize the
importance of writing functional specifications and design
documents. Quality is number one in your mind, and you thrive on
building comprehensive unit and end-to-end tests, not only for
features you build but also for existing features that need more
testing. Education & Experience MS in Computer Science or
equivalent Additional Requirements
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a loosely structured organization
- Highly professional, with the ability to deliver solid work on
tight schedule
- Understanding of SQL and NoSQL systems a plus
- Understanding of internet mail systems a plus
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation
package and is determined within a range. This provides the
opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The
base pay range for this role is between $166,500 and $250,000, and
your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications,
experience, and location.
