responsible for end to end development for Disney's world-class
consumer-facing products, including streaming platforms Disney+,

looking for a software engineer who wants to build and operate
these critical services that support a massive population of Hulu

onsite position and must sit in one of our technology offices
listed above***Job Summary:You'll help bridge the gap between
development and operations by improving and maintaining deployment
systems, observability, and testing platforms. You'll join a
hardworking group of engineers who build and manage systems
powering Hulu & Disney+ Streaming clients running on smart TVs,
smartphones, gaming consoles, FireTV, Apple TV, Roku, and
others.You'll help build and maintain systems that:
- Help manage IaC templates across a large topology of teams and
services
- Help teams deploy change quickly and safely including test
automation, static code scanning, and canary deployments
- Help teams build observability for their services including
managing SLOs, Golden Signals, Distributed Tracing, and RUM
- Help teams manage capacity across hundreds of services
- Help build processes to measure DORA metrics
- Help teams observe and manage services costsResponsibilities
and Duties of the Role:
- Improve and maintain CI/CD systems and process by designing and
developing automation for build/test/deploy.
- Ensure the quality of our services by improving and maintaining
test automation platforms for load and functional testing.
- Manage infrastructure as code and mentor teams on how to best
leverage infrastructure automation
- Ensure the reliability of our systems by developing and
maintaining observability systems and practices
- Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and defect
remediation
- Establish systems for observing and managing cost across a
large topology of systems and servicesRequired Education,
Experience/Skills/Training:Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in a DevOps or SRE role.
- Experience with IaC
- Experience with incident response
- Experience with containerization
- Experience with CI/CD tools
- Experience programming in Java or a JVM language
- Experience working on cross-team projects.
- An ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication skills and a desire to share and
learnRequired Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems,
Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable
field of study, and/or equivalent work experienceThe hiring range
for this position in San Francisco is $125,800 - $168,700 per year,
in New York City and Seattle is $120,300 - $161,300, and Santa
Monica is $114,900 - $154,100 per year. The base pay actually
offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary
depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related
knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus
and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the
compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical,
financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and
position offered.
