Senior Technical Program Manager Location: Nytec Innovation Center, Kirkland, WANytec is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager for its Product Innovation Center in Kirkland, WA. This senior level role requires capabilities to work on two fronts in parallel. First front is full ownership of the program technical aspect, from initial customer contact all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Second front is communication with customer similarly to a consulting role. This position will oversee all aspects of the program including but not limited to project scoping, proposal writing, customer engagement management, and management of the design and engineering teams in delivering to the given caliber. The manager will be simultaneously responsible for resolving any issues as they arise and for owning the customer satisfaction goal, while working on cutting edge IoT technologies with some of the best engineers to create products never produced before. The Nytec team in Kirkland provides end-to-end product development for numerous Fortune 100 companies throughout the world. Each program is unique and has its own challenges - seldom will programs be the same. As Senior Technical Program Managers, we iterate fast and require team members to collaborate across all phases of the project life cycle. This is a full-time role with full benefits.Responsibilities:

  • Technical Project Management: Gathering requirements and coalescing them into client facing documents; coordinating all engineering aspects of the program; creating proposals; administering internal and external team project management, scope management, and program team leadership
  • Relationships: Building strong client and vendor relationship experiences; running multiple concurrent projects with different clients simultaneously; cultivating relationships across sales, design, engineering, and technical teams while serving as an end-to-end liaison in the development of the product
  • Communications: Owning and managing communications internally as well as between Nytec and the customer during the entire project lifecycle; overseeing acquisition of resources and materials as needed before and during projects by talking with customers, team members, managers, and vendors
  • Knowledge Management: Creating summary reports and overseeing internal project management tools
  • Business Development: Collaborating with sales teams in developing pipelines for future business development
  • Operational Management: Achieving operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change
  • Budget Management: Management, tracking, and reporting of project budget to ensure projects delivers on or below budget
  • Schedule Management: Development and daily management of the program schedule, tasks, and dependencies to meet the project deadlinesQualifications:
    • Experience in consumer electronic hardware such as smartphones, tablets, wearables, home automation, and The Internet of Things
    • Experience managing complex projects, with responsibility spanning Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering to Software, and Firmware Engineering
    • Employment history of managing projects that grow from early definition stage (requirements gathering and technical specification coordination) to release and control of hardware and firmware in a manufacturing environment
    • Strong communication skills, demonstrating poise and confidence working with external clients; ability to anticipate client needs
    • Aptitude in driving results and holding people accountable while also developing rapport with teams across the organization
    • Agility in working with clients as you meet the varying customer expectations for communication across a wide scope of simple projects through to mass production of millions of devices; capacity to change gears and scope of effort depending on the given client needs at the moment
    • Superb written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • 7+ years of technical project management experience on product development (concept to production); engineering experience in a related field preferred
    • Strong knowledge of project Management tools and engineering methodologies
    • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of tools Benefits
