Job DescriptionCertified Public Accountant / Accounting Information Systems Expert / Business Administration Professional Department: Accounting Department at the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters (PNWRCC), a labor unionJob Type: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per weekWork Location: 25120 Pacific Hwy S, Suite 200, Kent, WA 98032Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PMStarting Wage: $36.20 per hour + (based on experience) Pension, Health and Welfare benefits as per Collective Bargaining AgreementBargaining Unit: Position is represented by Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) Local Union 8, 2512 First Ave, Room 304, Seattle, WA 98121Applicants must submit:ˇ A resumé and cover letter to the office manager indicating how your skills meet the qualifications requested for this position no later than Friday, June 8, 2018.ˇ Two letters of recommendation from former employers not related to the applicant.Must fill out an application for membership, and be willing to join OPEIU Local 8Summary of Duties: • Accounts Payable and Account Receivable• Reconciliation of accounts• Assist in design and preparation of periodic reports to management and trustees• Assist with semi-annual audits including making adjusting J/E and providing reports to the CPA• Assist local unions with audit preparations• Develop audit plans for organization and local unions' internal audits including internal control testing and communication of results• Collect and analyze local union monthly financial statements and income/expense reports• Create G/L accounts as needed• Process paperwork for campaign volunteers and prepare for payroll department• Administrator for cloud-based expense software program; coding of new employees, design reports as needed• Train local union staff on bookkeeping, accounting, and annual budget preparation • Administration of real estate properties owned, leased, or rented by the organization; ensure deeds are correct• Research square footage, personal property, tax assessment values, and advise management on needed actions• Manage inventory, prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information• Develop lease and rental agreements in conjunction with company attorney; notify tenants of increases• Participate in ongoing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system development• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies• Other duties as assignedRequired Professional Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills:• CPA (strongly preferred) or Masters degree in Accounting Information Systems or Bachelor's in Business Administration with emphasis on Accounting/Information Systems• Advanced MS office skills particularly in Excel and Access• Minimum of five years experience working as a full charge bookkeeper• Solid knowledge of QuickBooks, Sage 100 a plus, Paylocity or ADP experience a plus• Strong analytical, computer and reporting skills• Strong communication, collaborative and teamwork skills• Ability to travel around the Northwest (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Nevada & Wyoming) may be required from time to timePLEASE NOTE: Individuals with A/P and A/R experience only NEED NOT APPLY.
