Amazon's exhilarating growth of infrastructure spend to support our growing businesses, phenomenal growth in engineering talent and resulting technology, and our increasing adoption of native AWS services has created an urgent opportunity with direct executive sponsorship to invent new Capacity Management tools. As AWS' largest customer, Amazon's Consumer business, consisting of many tens of thousands of independent web services, creates unique technical and planning challenges to characterize and simplify, working closely with AWS. As we increasingly shift from planning compute capacity at the 'host' level, our tools to manage capacity need to be continuously re-invented to account for new cloud paradigms. The future of capacity management reduces the burden on our developer community to manage at Amazon scale through auto-scaled and flexible capacity pools, serverless hosted higher order services, and dynamic pricing across multi-year planning horizons. This role, reporting into CloudTune's Scaling Efficiency organization, will be responsible for developing a fundamental understanding and recommendation on how Amazon Consumer can best leverage new technologies and pricing constructs emerging from Amazon Web Services. The successful candidate will become a technical expert in migrating/re-architecting Amazon Consumer services to native AWS, including how to plan .and.amp; structure capacity needs in the context of capacity models such as cross account resource sharing, regional vs zonal instance reservations, launch reservations, AWS Organizations. Demonstrating deep technical skill at a system architecture level, and applying experience with AWS technologies you will envision and build the tools, programs, and policies that will underpin the next phase of Amazon's growth. Our ideal candidate will have a strong TPM background, with demonstrated experience leading large cross-organizational software development projects, and will have a deep technical background in current web and micro-service technologies, preferably including Amazon Web Services. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and help drive change. As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, help engineering leaders develop functional specifications, then deliver programs in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are key factors to success in this role.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSBasic Qualifications:* 10+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a related industry* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent* Ability to think creatively, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve and prioritize* Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to influence others* Experience delivering initiatives from conception through on-time delivery* Experience with current web technologies, AWS preferredPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreferred Qualifications:* 15+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a related industry* Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science and/or Business* Background in infrastructure and systems management products or performance engineering* Experie Current Search Criteria - Amazon Corporate LLC - Principal Technical Program Mana... - Seattle - Washington - Clear All Other Sites Veterans Diversity Disability Apprenticeships 2018DIRECTEMPLOYERS ASSOCIATION, INC. - PRIVACY & TERMS - CONTACT facebook twitter linkedin rss DEjobs designed by: back to top
