WHAT YOU\'LL DO

About the role: As a Toolmaker, you will be a part of the Precor Tooling Engineering team, working to deliver industry leading levels of quality and reliability for exercise equipment. You will be a key part of the Precor production strategy, working to fabricate assemble and test tooling design to maximize quality and improve efficiencies at our Woodinville facility. You will work alongside other toolmakers and engineers in a well-equipped tooling machine shop filled with a mix of CNC and manual equipment.



This is a great opportunity for a seasoned machinist that is seeking a variety in their work in terms of machines and processes. As a Toolmaker at Precor you will work in an environment of largely one off projects, using your skills to plan work, CAM software to develop programs, perform set ups and run parts. You will take completed design packages and work closely with the tooling design engineers to fabricate components, assemble test and validate tools.



You will be responsible for:

* Fabricate and assemble components to make machines, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and hand tools

* Analyze design packages using knowledge of machining strategies, tool design, shop math, and assembly procedures

* Provide feedback to tooling engineers on improving component manufacturability, set up efficiencies and overall production efficiencies

* Run CAM software to generate tooling paths for components to manufacture

* Set up and operate conventional and CNC machines to fabricate tooling components

* Inspection using common machine shop metrology equipment

* When required as a repair function, trouble shoot and produce parts for broken tooling

* Reverse engineer and produce damaged components

* Problem solve and resolve production tooling issues

* Independently develop small tools jigs and fixtures as required based on requirements from end users and manufacturing engineering

WHAT WE\'RE LOOKING FOR

To be successful in this role, you will have:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. require
*

Journey level machinist or trade school certificate * Using shop machine tools including lathes, mills, surface grinders, band saws, and fabrication tools

* Applying machining strategies to effectively locate and fixture parts on manual and CNC machines

* Using CAD/CAM software to generate tool paths for machining

* Setting up and editing your own CNC programs on a mill

* Building and setting tool libraries for CNC programs

* Manufacturing parts using a variety of materials including, plastic, aluminum, and steel

* Experience running a CNC lathe

* Using a PC for basic computer tasks: email, MS Excel, MS Word

* Using SolidWorks for basic modeling

* Experience with PC-DMIS software, portable Rohmer Arm, CMM or equivalent highly desired.

* Performing tolerance calculations (GD&T)

* MIG or TIG welding

* Sheet metal fabrication

* Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and controls

* Knowledge of electrical circuits, switches, controls, and PLCs

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Machine-shop environment with dust, oil smoke, and occasional welding fumes. Loud noises require the use of ear plugs. Steel toes and safety glasses are required at all times.

* Standing for up to 8-10 hours during a day with little movement is a regular part of machine work.

* Frequent lifting of objects up to 40 lbs. Lifting devices are available for heavier objects and must be employed for those items over 40 lbs.

* Exacting precision is a regular duty so good vision is a must.

* Walking between plants is frequently required.
