JOB SUMMARY Accountable for managing all aspects of a high-volume supply chain logistics operation to ensure consistent high level service quality and customer satisfaction, profitable, cost efficient operations, and compliance with company policies and procedures, ISO standards, Sarbanes Oxley requirements, and other regulatory guidelines.  Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Coordinate and provide direction for customer service efforts from all station departments Ensure ongoing customer service and maintain customer relations through focusing on the contract's daily operations based on customers needs. This is accomplished through daily communications with the customer to discuss service needs and potential problems.

Responsible for attainment of profit objectives of contracts, provides financial analysis and decision making for customer.

Responsible for the organic growth and development of additional business opportunities with existing customer.

Ensure safety, maintain quality, establish and monitor cost control programs.

Lead and foster creative problem solving, develop positive and professional relationships with customer and within contracts.

Work with government departments, social groups, etc.

Oversee operations management within the company guidelines.

Oversee operations schedule and staff in anticipation of customer needs. Oversee the staffing needs of contract to assure sufficient labor to meet the customer's requirements and control costs.

Provide support and guidance to hiring manager.

Manage the contract staff to assure continued quality service by writing procedures, testing hiring and training managerial and operational personnel.

Maintain corporate productivity and quality award programs to recognize outstanding performance.

Encourage use of Performance Management system in all facets of the operation. Maintain the contracts quality performance objectives through the continuous improvement processes.

Train managers and other personnel strategically in all areas that will help them achieve the contract goals and objectives and satisfy the customer.

Establish ongoing programs to ensure continuous improvement. This includes the use of Kaizen, LEAN, and the EQS program to maintain quality performance.

Motivate the workforce through Performance Management program; encourage input from employees through Employee Involvement Groups; and reward for continuous performance using award programs.

Establish and monitor cost control programs, including annual budget development, monthly P&L review, payroll, and cost analysis. Through the use of Performance Management projects, guide managerial staff to monitor and control costs on a weekly basis.

Day to day administration of contract, including: preparation of customer related performance reports and other correspondence; requests from vendors, general office and contract employees; and all other items that fall within managerial scope of responsibility.

Negotiate and enforce collective bargaining agreement where applicable.

Negotiate resolutions pertaining to conflicts in the workplace.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Education & Certifications

High School degree or GED required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, 3PL or Transportation is required. Master’s Degree is preferred

Experience

Minimum 10 years relevant experience required.

Industry experience preferred

Expertise in operations and business management is required

Experienced in providing leadership for multiple sites that are geographically dispersed; effectively delegating responsibility and authority to direct reports.

Experience driving revenue growth, retaining customers, and managing profitability of multiple sites

Experienced in project management methodologies with focus on managing solution driven strategy plans to achieve goals.

Special Knowledge

In depth, experience based knowledge of managing revenue, budgets, EBITDA, operations problem solving, customer service, and managing people

Communication Skills

Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.

Exceptional written and communication skills including the ability to persuade, influence, negotiate, and make formal presentations in meetings and training environments

Computer Skills

PC literate

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, as well as web based specific software applications supporting the supply chain or transportation industry as well as financial applications

Other Skills

Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.

Must exhibit strong interpersonal skills including diplomacy and patience

Exceptional planning, time management, collaboration, decision making and organization skills

Evidences business acumen in managing multi-site organization, P&L Management, budgeting and forecasting and operational planning and problem solving

Thinks and acts strategically

Able to champion change and implement new approaches, systems, processes, etc. required to meet strategic objectives for customer growth and profitability

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel is required for this position to the various sites.
