Job Description Nordstrom is looking for a talented individual
to lead our Business Intelligence and Human Resources (HR)
Operations Analytics team. This person will play an integral role
in transforming operational modeling and dashboarding philosophy
and serve up critical data products to HR and the business.
As the Manager of HR Business Intelligence, you will manage the
end-to-end HR business intelligence operational modeling to produce
a suite of data tools. The ideal candidate is organized and an
effective project manager who continually evaluates the current
state and drives continuous improvement efforts related to
technology, project process, service levels and prioritization.
You will collaborate with all HR Teams on a consistent basis to
align on data infrastructure, definitions, artifacts, and
deliverables. You should be able to articulate well to all levels
of the organization (VPs, Directors, Consultants & Analysts) and
possess excellent comprehension skills.
You have a working knowledge of HRIS systems, preferably
Workday, general knowledge of human resource functions and data
gathering, and consulting and presentation experience. In addition,
you should have a high level of technical aptitude and basic
project management skills in order to facilitate requirement needs
to translate and contribute to product design and execution.
A day in the life…
Assess the needs of the business, prioritize projects and drive
new BI and modeling requirements to completion
Proactively and systematically identify and recommend any
enhancements to data products and processes
Coordinate, support, and challenge your team of BI and Data
Analysts to achieve desirable outcomes
Identify new data sources that will support strategic and
tactical objectives for the team and stakeholders
Provide insights on trends and drivers behind the results and
prepare reports on findings
Work cross-functionally as needed to enable data architecture
and solutions that best meet the modeling and BI needs of the
Identify and communicate key insights to HR specialist teams
(e.g. Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, etc) and leadership team
Complete complex ad-hoc modeling and business intelligence

Bachelor’s degree in statistics, industrial-organizational
psychology, business intelligence, or other “STEM” major (Master’s
5 + years Business Intelligence and analytics experience in a
large corporate environment
3+ years experience as people manager leading teams
3+ years applying BI and analytics applying for Human Resources
Exeprience partnering with HR leadership and HR functions
HRIS System Experience, preferably Workday
Advanced MS Office: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access,
Strong BI tool skills, especially Tableau, and querying language
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
A talent for multi-tasking, prioritizing objectives, and meeting
Proven ability to self-direct work efforts
