Cascade Eye & Skin Centers, P.C. is seeking for an experienced Ophthalmic Retina Supervisor to join our team! We offer excellent benefits and Monday thru Friday working hours. Essential Duties -- Attend all required meetings to include in office and after hours as required -- Finalize yearly performance reviews for technicians and execute said reviews with HR -- Create and distribute weekly work schedule for all clinics and techs -- Perform monthly scheduled chart reviews as assigned -- Provide supervision of clinical support staff for daily operations assuring daily, weekly and monthly tasks are completed. -- Optimize patient flow in your clinic for maximum efficiency -- Manage patient care or service concerns whenever necessary -- Maintain necessary medical and office supplies by conducting an overall monthly inventory of your assigned clinic retaining no more than one-month worth of supplies at any given time. -- Uphold, train and review daily that employees are complying with all Meaningful Use and PQRS measures. -- Review attendance records for all assigned technicians to include accurate punches and tardy records. -- Report employee absence and vacation requests -- Delegate applicable duties as appropriate to validate the importance of your assigned technicians. -- Monitor clinical trials when applicable -- Assist with contact lens schedules -- Ensure that technicians keep all exam/history rooms stocked -- Set-up and break-down of SLT -- Add pharmacies to Medflow list -- Review charting errors with appropriate technicians -- Regularly check temperatures of refrigerators -- Approve employee cosmetic services -- Re-map OCT's Job Requirements:Ophthalmic Assistant Job Duties (Must be able t o jump in and help when needed)-- Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision-- Interact professionally with other employees, supervisors, patients and providers-- Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments-- Work independently while understanding--the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees, supervisors and providers-- Verify patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit and capturing all Meaningful Use measures in the patient's Electronic Health Record (EHR) and PQRS.-- Prepares patients for examination by performing all pre-ordered testing as well as routine testing followed by rooming the patient.-- Monitor patient flow by directing providers to the next patient; overseeing the providers schedule to maintain "on-time" status; check reception area to ensure all patients are accounted for.-- Working knowledge of OCT and FA application and operation. PDT experience a plus!-- Knowledge of Diabetic Retinopathy, ARMD and other retinal specific diseases-- Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision-- Interact professionally with other employees, supervisors, patients, and providers-- Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments-- Work independently while understanding--the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees, supervisors, and providers-- Verify patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit and capturing all Meaningful Use measures in the patient's Electronic Health Record (EHR) and PQRS.-- Perform scribing tasks as directed by provider; prepare prescriptions indicated during the exam for provider's signature at conclusion of exam.-- Manage patient phone calls within your scope of practice and forward messages as needed to providers.-- Assist with all surgical procedures; prepare consent forms for signature, organize instruments and/or supplies, clean, dry, sterilize/autoclave instruments-- Oversee refills of patient medications; call patients with instructions from provider as directed-- Perform scribing tasks as directed by provider; prepare prescriptions indicated during the exam for provider's signature at conclusion of exam.-- Confirm patients understanding--of the provider's instructions at completion of the exam.-- Manage patient phone calls within your scope of practice and forward messages as needed to providers.-- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential-- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations-- Keeps supplies ready in exam rooms by inventorying and restocking-- Assist with all surgical procedures; prepare consent forms for signature, organize instruments and/or supplies, clean, dry, sterilize/autoclave instruments-- Oversee refills of patient medications; call patients with instructions from provider as directed-- Copy, scan and file all pertinent patient information-- Promote and instruct in the use of the patient web portal-- Maintain responsibility for compliance with blood borne pathogen regulations; assistance with the clinic policy and procedures; maintenance of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all supplies and medications-- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; calling for repairs-- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications-- Serves and protects the ophthalmology practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements including all aspects of HIPAA regulations-- Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments-- Other duties and tasks may/will be assigned as needed from multiple sourcesQualificationsEducation/Experience-- Proof of completion of a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant programLicense/Certification-- Employee must be eligible for registration with the Washington State Department of Health
