Quidel is excited to offer an opportunity in our Sales Development Program. This is an excellent entry point into Clinical Diagnostic/ Medical Device industry. Ideal candidate attributes include those who are:

1.) Intelligent - grasps complex sales cycles and, with training, has the aptitude to pick up the technical aspects of our products and the healthcare sectors we serve. Although a technical/healthcare degree maybe helpful it is not required;

2.) Articulate - possesses a high EQ and can effectively communicate across various levels of corporate or a customer's organizations;

3.) Committed - to a 6 month or greater sales training program and possible relocation to a territory after successful completion thereof;

4.) Competitive - displays a track record of competitive achievement and a drive to be the best.

The Associate Account Manager will take part in a program designed to provide an optimal mix of in-depth course work and development experiences with departments that supports customers and the field sales team to prepare high potential candidates to work in a sales territory. During this training program candidates must be available for frequent travel or taking temporary residence, as permissible, to our Corporate Office in San Diego, CA and various geographies for co-travel across the US. After successfully completing the sales develop program the Associate Account Manager will be placed in a US based territory. Candidates should be open for relocation to a multitude of geographies for a final territory to be assigned based on business needs. Once in territory this role will be responsible for territory management and sales of all Quidel products to hospitals, clinics, physician office labs (POL), and Urgent Care markets within the assigned geographic region.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Acquires knowledge about Quidel, the Diagnostic Market, Healthcare, and the Sales function. Develops according to schedule outlined by the Sales Development Program.
  • Grows existing accounts and develops new accounts in order to meet territory revenue and profitability goals.
  • Collaborates and includes the right people in the sales process at the right time to drive sales. Demonstrates corporate values.
  • Effectively manages sales pipeline from lead acquisition to contract signing by focusing and advancing customers through the sales process
  • Strategizes plans and organizes territory for profitability.
  • Manages plans that are strategically focused, including account profiles, sales opportunity assessments, account objectives and strategies, action plans, and value assessments
  • Utilizes Cognos to secure territory intelligence and develop a strategy; Uses the CRM to record current accurate and complete account activity, and account and contact information
  • Builds productive and strong collaborative relationships with distribution partners to drive sales revenue and profitability
  • Provides or facilitates training on Quidel products to customers and distributor representatives as required.
  • Proactively conveys timely information to the Regional Sales Director, Specialty Sales, Marketing, Sales Operations, and others to provide market intelligence, customer information, events, changes, and trends to maximize sales, revenue, and marketing opportunities.
  • Makes sound fiscal decisions and assures maximum return on investment for all expenditures
  • Represents Quidel at trade shows and professional meetings
  • Models exemplary company values and complies with Quidel goals and values
