Job Summary

Our IS department has an awesome opportunity for the critical position of Project Manager. In this role, you will ensure successful implementation of new and significant modifications to existing information systems and services managed by the IS Department, providing leadership, direction, and project oversight.


Advises and guides Project Team, Project Sponsor, department leads, business managers and other project stakeholders as appropriate to ensure that all requirements are identified and that the organization is ready for project implementation. Effectively communicates and manages project expectations. Works with Project Team to define project success criteria and clearly communicate those criteria to all involved parties during the project. Engages, directs, and manages resources (sponsors, project teams, vendors, business leads, etc.) as needed to ensure delivery of project deliverables and control of project expenditures. Identifies and manages project risks and issues. Develops, monitors, and manages project plans and schedules. Tracks and monitors all project milestones and deliverables. Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path. Documents project progress, key milestones, tasks accomplished, etc.; analyzes results, troubleshoots problem areas and recommends ways to mitigate project risks. Hosts weekly status meeting with project team. Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts between project team members. Recommends need for additional resources if necessary during project. Identifies and mitigates project issues, raising critical issues to the attention of project sponsors or their supervisor as appropriate. Accepts and assesses project change requests and make recommendations in coordination with the project team. Schedules and directs appropriate testing to ensure quality of deliverables. Works with Project Team and other project participants to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements; develop project "lessons learned" and assist with project close out.


University degree in the field of computer science or business administration or equivalent experience. Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered. 5+ years' work experience in an IT/IS project management role. Experience with relational database environments. Experience with project management software, such as MS Project. Certification in Project Management (PMP, CAPM, etc.) preferred. Ability to facilitate relations between business units and Information Services Department. Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and learning, understanding, and applying new technologies. Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
