Job Description:

The Instrumentation/Calibration Technician is responsible for the maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of a variety of circuits, components, analytical equipment, and instrumentation for research and development and manufacturing laboratory equipment.

Essential Functions:

Maintain, test, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair of a variety of circuits, components, analytical equipment, and instrumentation for research and development and manufacturing laboratory equipment, including, but not limited to air guns, autoclaves, cartridge presses, centrifuges, decappers, DI systems, multimeters, plate sealers, pipettes, pressure gauges, rinse stations, shakers, spectrophotometer, thermocyclers, and vacuum sealers

Conduct routine equipment calibration and preventive maintenance checks with adequate supervision and oversight

Change DI equipment tubing at least monthly for all Point of Use (POU) systems

Support the purchase, receipt, installation, and qualifications of new laboratory equipment

Investigate, resolve and acknowledge all viewLinc out of threshold alarms and notifications.

Accurately generate service-related documents

Analyze results from test specifications and electrical schematics

Participate in collaborations within electronic quality management system (EQMS)

Perform administrative functions as needed

Specify and request purchase of components

Maintain required documentation

Maintain spare parts and equipment inventory

Responds to internal and external customer inquiries and feedback

Clearly articulate, verbally or in written format, project plans, resolutions, summaries, etc. to senior technician/supervisor as needed

Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines



Requires at least 3 years of experience in engineering, electronics, automation, or another technical field

Applied sciences, engineering, instrumentation or industrial automation degree and commensurate experience

Basic understanding of small equipment components and functionality
