EHS Safety Manager

An employer is looking for a Health and Safety Manager in the
Seattle area. This individual will be supporting the industrial
infrastructure team with a goal to ensure that projects adhere to
client requirements and business goals by developing and driving
project Safety plans, managing contractors, and coordinating
activities within the project team. You will survey active
construction sites of capital projects for compliance or
non-compliance with safety standards, assist with the review of
contractor submitted safety documentation to include job safety
analysis, and reporting of audit findings for corrective actions
and metric reporting. This individual will be responsible for the
- Monitor the contractors field activities to verify the work is
being performed in compliance with approved safety plan, client
policies and industry best practices.
Review and recommend revisions, as required, to clients
construction safety procedures.
Assist with quarterly safety meetings with contractor safety
personnel; develop / maintain strong working relationships with
contractor safety representatives
Prepare and distribute meeting minutes for contractor safety
Assist the H&S Manager as requested to prepare action plans for
reported safety deficiencies.
Report all serious conditions, near misses or accidents to clients
EH&S office and responding departments as required and assist
with near miss/incident investigations.
Prepare or obtain accident and incident reports for submission to
Complete daily project site inspections.
Support project managers in project risk assessments, site safety
plans and job safety analysis reviews.
Recognize best safety practices and report to Arcadis Project
Engage with contractors to ensure Lock Out Tag Out, Hot Work, and
Permit to Work procedures comply with client requirements.
Review contractor safety performance to confirm contractor safety
programs meet minimum client requirements for work on site.
Provide site orientation to contractors working on site.
Monitor compliance with Arcadis Safe Systems of Work, confirm
contractor safety plans and initiate supplemental permits
Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Health Sciences,
Construction Management, or related field
4 years of experience providing safety management
Field safety experience including monitoring compliance and
submitting incident reports
Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry) and 29 CFR 1926
(Construction) safety standards
