UW Video has an outstanding opportunity open for a Temporary Producer. The Producer is responsible for creating and overseeing production projects from conception to completion. This position provides consultation, creative design, direction and project management to a client base that includes Deans, Directors, Vice Presidents, Provosts and other faculty, staff, students and officers of the University of Washington. The ideal candidate for this position will have professional working experience in radio, television, virtual productions, broadcast and/or film. They must possess the skills to utilize professional video and audio equipment as well as knowledge of the live/virtual production and post-production process. Candidates will have strong creative and technical skills and have a keen eye for detail. The Producer must have the ability to manage multiple projects while adhering to project deadlines. Typical Responsibilities: * Create multimedia content for customer stories, department videos, social videos, promotional videos, recruiting videos, training and other enterprise-wide projects * Script, storyboard, budget, allocate resources, set deadlines and select optimal forms of media for projects * Work independently, as well as part of a team to establish project deliverables * Collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders to facilitate the creation of content * Develop production schedules, plan video shoots; scout and reserve shoot locations * Record and edit video and sound projects, selecting format for final output, importing media, organizing raw media, titling, adding music/voice-over, management and archiving project media General Skills: * Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines * Clear understanding and demonstrated proficiency in all phases of video and live/virtual production. * Operate technical broadcast equipment and switchers used during live events and productions * Live switching between cameras, virtual cameras (such as zoom) replay, videos, and graphics * Problem solve and troubleshoot in a fast-paced high-pressure environment * Ability to work and respectfully communicate with a diverse team * Working knowledge of project management software and practices * Must be reliable and show up on time for scheduled call times * Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and as part of a team Minimum Qualifications: * A Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of experience of increasing responsibility producing and directing television and video programs. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications.
