We offer a stimulating and supportive working environment, excellent and abundant supervision, and opportunities for professional growth.We are looking to employ clinicians to help clients address unhealthy and debilitating behaviors as well as overcome phobias, addictions, and traumas using the Reaching Recovery model.The clinician's responsibilities include helping clients understand their behaviors, teaching clients how to change their responses to unfavorable situations, and assisting clients in developing healthier coping mechanisms. You should also be able to create personalized exercises and homework assignments to help clients adjust their thought patterns.To be successful as a clinician here at Sound, you should demonstrate compassion, patience, and understanding when treating clients. Ultimately, an outstanding clinician should be able to effectively communicate with clients to establish trust and accurately assess progress.Responsibilities:GENERAL SUMMARYThe IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) Clinician works with adult clients with a dual diagnosis of a developmental disability and a mental illness and assists them in becoming as independent as possible in the community. Through the provision of a full range of case management services and service coordination, the Clinician assists clients in setting and attaining short and long term goals. The Clinician also serves as a resource for, and provides leadership to, other team members.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIESProvides direct services and/or internal and external organization referrals for clients.Develops treatment plans and maintains accurate and timely clinical records according to organization policy.Prepares necessary reports, summaries and progress notes, and incorporates into clinical records.Performs consultations and liaison duties with other agencies and resources on behalf of the client.Assists client to remain stable in the community, thereby reducing the use of hospitals or involuntary treatment services.Monitors medication regimes and treatment compliance.Monitors utilization of services and the success of outcome measures.Participates in team member meetings, consultations, case presentations and in-service training.Participates in ongoing program development and assessment.Ensures the coordination of support meetings and cross-systems crisis plan development for enrolled clients with this need.Provides outreach visits to the individuals' home, day and vocational settings regularly.Provides on-call support on a rotational basis.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a counseling-related field, with a strong emphasis on working with families and community agencies required.A minimum of two years of clinical experience as a clinician or case manager or residential provider and ability to demonstrate skills in clinical assessment and treatment plans, preferred.CERTIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALSWashington State driver's license and insurable driving record required.Must be able to obtain a WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential within the first 60 days of hire.Must pass a criminal background check.
