Job Description:

Observes patrons and employees participating in gambling activities to detect infractions of house rules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all security functions on shift basis.
  • Supervises security shift employees.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and gaming enterprise's internal controls.
  • Reviews and approves all reports submitted by officers on his/her shift.
  • Enforces Squaxin Island Gaming Enterprise and regulatory laws and requirements.
  • Maintains constant vigilance to ensure the safety of patrons and employees and company property.
  • Watches participants in games such as dice or cards to detect cheating, identify rule violations, and observe persons designated by superior.
  • Speaks or signals to supervising personnel using hand, telephone two-way radio, or voice to identify and supply information about suspected violations.
  • May transfer monies, chips, and documentation within the casino.
  • May be responsible for card and dice destruction.
  • Authorized to use keys and has access to highly sensitive and restricted areas.
  • Examines dice periodically to check for damage or substitution.
  • Promotes positive public relations.
  • Promotes public safety and helps to ensure a safe working environment for Security Staff and all LCCR employees.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

    SUPERVISION:
    • Directly supervises employees in the Security Department.
    • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
    • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; assisting in appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Must have a Valid Washington State Driver License and an acceptable driving recordCopy of your Driving Abstract Required.
      Requirements
      • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
      • Previous security experience preferredEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
        • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
        • Two years of law enforcement, commercial or military security experience. SKILLS:
          • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
          • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
          • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
            MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
            REASONING ABILITY:
            • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
            • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
              CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
              • Class III gaming license issued from the Washington State Gambling Commission.
              • Valid Washington State Driver's license.

                  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, tobacco fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
                  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
