Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Vehicle Simulation Lead for their Satellite Division located in Kent, WA.

This exciting position will lead the simulation work on an existing program, providing engineering leadership to a remotely located vehicle simulation team of 10-12 software and system engineers.

Position Includes:
Serve as vehicle simulation liaison by providing engineering, coordination, and planning support of vehicle simulator team products to internal teams, external suppliers and partners.

Oversee all phases of the software development lifecycle from requirements to architecture/design, development, and test/release.

Requires familiarity with agile software methods and object oriented analysis and design.

Position Responsibilities:
Evaluate technical solutions and facilitate resolution of issues

Ensure process adherence

Manage team's issues, risks, and opportunities

Represent team at engineering review boards

Perform control account manager duties including budget and EVM management

Collect and report team status to Boeing and customer leadership

Manage/maintain schedules including coordination with other IPTs and external partners

Facilitate the setup of team physical and computing infrastructure

Maintain software release plan

Maintain staffing plan

Conduct daily stand-up meetings

Chair test readiness reviews

Occasional travel may be required

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

successfully completed a Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years or have you been enrolled in a Continuous Evaluation program such that periodic updates are no longer required

Basic -Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
10+ years of experience in software development

5+ years of experience performing in a leadership role

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
