Location: Kitsap County, Washington (Silverdale/Poulsbo)Start Date: March 14th, 2022AMFM Healthcare is opening two residential locations in Kitsap County serving clients with severe mental illness in a 45-day holistic treatment approach using an evidenced-based clinical care model. You would be assigned to either the Silverdale or Poulsbo 8-bed residential treatment center and may provide coverage as needed for either location. Hiring is open now, with all Client Counselors starting on March 14th, 2022. The treatment program's tentative start date is April 4th, 2022. All shifts currently available for part time or full time positions. Standard shifts: Day (6:30am-3pm), Swing (2:30pm-11pm), Night (10:30pm-7am).JOB DESCRIPTION:The Client Counselor is the staff responsible for the supervision of AMFM Healthcare's clients participating in the program's licensed residential and certified outpatient programs. The Client Counselor helps to provide a safe, supportive, and caring environment to promote well-being, safety, and encourages clients to continue their recovery program. This position is expected to cooperate as a team member with AMFM Healthcare management and clinical staff. The Client Counselor has knowledge, skills, and experience with supervising client services and all related tasks to provide a safe, comfortable, and caring environment for clients, and is familiar with concepts of recovery from mental health and co-occurring disorders.QUALIFICATIONS:Must be 18 years or older to apply for this position.Must be able to successfully pass a DOH WATCH report. Inability to meet this requirement is grounds for termination.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function assigned satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.One year of sobriety if staff states that they are in recovery from a substance use disorder.Associate Degree or equivalent work experiencePossess valid driver's license with a clean driving recordCPR/First Aid CertificationCurrent T.B. clearancePhysical Requirements: Ability to lift 20 lbs.Must obtain Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) within 60 days of hirePreferred:Registered and/or certified with a WA DOH approved Substance Use Disorder Professional or Peer Support Counselor.Bachelor's Degree in social services or related fieldExperience working with individual diagnosed with severe mental healthDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Client Counselor will be assigned projects, based on his/her level of expertise, that include any, or all the following job responsibilities.Coordinates and transports clients safely to all daily activities, ensuring the clients arrive on time to all scheduled activities, and ensures participant safety.Utilizes intervention and communication skills in working with clients, their families and significant others daily and in crisis.Rigorously adheres to all Joint Commission policies and procedures, including Waived Testing, Infection Prevention and Control, as well as Emergency Management and Environment of Care procedures.Proficiently navigate and utilize the BestNotes electronic health record system to document client activities effectivelyCollaborate with the program nurse and clinical team regarding medication management, and monitor and report client behavior with medication side effects. Monitor and document client self-administration medications while coaching clients in self-management and documenting medications in accordance with the organization's policy on medication use.Maintain the integrity of the residences, ensuring optimal cleanliness at all times and keeping the area hygienic.Facilitate recovery and clinically indicated activities and groups according to organization policy and document into the electronic health record.Conduct observation rounds, as needed to ensure client safety, and document client behavior and participation in treatment. Effectively and correctly report these in daily passdowns.Responsible for client attendance of daily recovery activities as scheduled.Conduct orientation to new residents, including reviewing safety drills and locations of fire extinguishers, emergency evacuation diagrams, exit routes, evacuation procedures, and first-aid kitsComplete administrative tasks relating to intake, discharge, and case management needs to support client's therapist and assigned case managerBe an integral part of the clients treatment team, including ownership of your role in the clients recoveryJOB TITLE: Residential Client CounselorSTATUS: Full-Time, Part-Time, or On-Call; Non-exemptREPORTS TO: Program ManagerPay range: $20-$24/ hourly DOE
