Tarragon Property Services is seeking a Design Associate who will
manage conceptual designs and execute design efforts, including
interior design, building renovation, exterior curb appeal, space
planning, apartment interior specifications, model home design,
branding, and signage for a growing apartment portfolio located in
the Greater Seattle Area. This is an exceptional opportunity to use
your creative talents in a business environment in which you will
make and execute multi-million-dollar renovation plans at both
urban and suburban apartment communities. In addition, you will
also have exposure to the retail, office, and industrial
properties. This position will be based in either the company's
Seattle or Sumner office.The Design Associate will be responsible
for the project management of design efforts from start to finish
and create design standards for the portfolio's existing 4,000
apartments and commercial buildings. Your vision will define the
future of the property, and the brand, unit interior and common
area improvements that you select will transform the property into
a community which our residents will be proud to call home.The
Design Associate should be a confident, dynamic and creative
professional with a thorough understanding of design, and ability
to work with the internal management team and business affiliates
with strong project management capabilities to get each project
implemented.Primary Responsibilities:Provide design services and
manage third-party consultants for a multifamily portfolio of
properties located in the Greater Seattle Area. The role will
occasionally support industrial and retail properties in a limited
role.Develop, present, and execute design plans for each asset.Be
the primary point of contact with third-party designers,
consultants, and architects on assigned projects.Must be able to
manage projects independently.Create design materials using various
software, such as CAD, PhotoShop, Revit and Sketchup.Research,
source, price and communicate project specifications for both
renovation projects and the apartment interior
replacements.Research industry best practices and new design trends
that we can incorporate into our portfolio of properties.Work
directly with the marketing and construction management teams and
provide assistance as needed for special projects.Present to the
company's internal Design Review Board (DRB) to discuss
programming, schematic designs, trends, and progress on a regular
basis. Members of the DRB will include leaders from TPS and owner
representatives.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree: Design or other
creative degree preferred.2-5 years of previous work experience in
the implementation of design projects, including the technical
delivery of design elements into a completed project.Must have a
valid driver's license and insurable driving record; Travel
required to company properties including Sumner
location.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and other
software including CAD and PhotoShop required.Management of outside
consultants and firms. In addition to selecting designs and
finishes yourself, some of the work will be coordinating outside
architects, color consultants, interior designers, suppliers,
furniture companies, etc.Understanding of interior design,
architecture, and color selection; Experience in the real estate
industry a plus.Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated
ability to work with internal and external business partners,
consultants, and clients. Ability to communicate complex issues
effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing to
senior management.Proven ability to manage a project's installation
