Continuous Cost Improvement Specialist, in addition to the
responsibilities of interpreting and communicating the state of
Skagit Regional Health finances, is responsible for the creation,
maintenance and oversight of clinical service line
costing/profitability reporting services and corporate overhead
allocation functions Essential Functions Assess the financial
health and viability of various clinical service lines to identify
how to keep quality healthcare accessible and affordable. Able to
facilitate discussions around cost and cost improvement within a
multidisciplinary team. Works with operations to train, develop,
and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Design and deploy
project plans and enforce project management towards the
achievement of these responsibilities. Ensure improvement results
are sustainable through implementation including continuous
tracking and improvement monitoring. Comply with all Skagit
Regional Health policies and procedures. Perform other duties as
assigned. Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related
field required. Advanced degree in a healthcare or finance related
field of study preferred Experience/Training Minimum Five (5) years
of current public and healthcare Finance and/or process/job costing
approaches. Data base management and healthcare payor experience
preferred. Experience with financial reporting systems is required.
Previous experience with EPIC, EPSi, KRONOS is preferred.
License/Certification Process Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma),
current Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) or other
related finance certification preferred. Other Qualifications
Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
required. Successful customer service, time management and
organizational skills necessary. Commitment to quality and
collaboration in a team based environment. Strong intermediate or
expert knowledge of approaches to Cost Accounting. Strong
analytical experience with integrating clinical and financial
reporting. Experience with governmental accounting principles and
procedures preferred. Knowledge of Premier Productivity and
Benchmarking software and reporting preferred. Experience in
hospital budgeting, financial data analytics, and long range
financial planning required. Previous continuous quality
improvement and team training is required. Experience with various
clinical business lines a plus. Ability to deal professionally with
sensitive and confidential information. Ability to work effectively
with all levels of employee and management. Must possess effective
critical-thinking, decision-making, problem-solving and analytical
skills. Ability to prioritize effectively within a fast-paced
environment characterized by multiple interruptions and competing
deadlines. Ability to utilize Microsoft Office effectively to
perform role, including expert level MS Excel skills, required.
Ability to sit for long periods of time. Available to work evenings
and/or weekends, if needed.
