The Service Manager duties include but are not limited to:
Ability to lead the Service team to level performance and create a
great customer service experience.
Responsible for promoting a team environment in the work place and
performs service duties.
Supervises and coordinates activities of Service Technicians to
ensure customers get the best
Responsible for scheduling jobs and status of current jobs.
Work with Shop Foreman to understand the importance of job repair
times from hours worked today promised for completion.
Responsible for overseeing that the Shop Foreman is maintaining a
good team environment and
quality work is being done and all Service Techs have completed the
required paper work, and the
final inspection has been performed and signed off.
Responsible for assisting in the daily duties of quoting jobs,
maintaining the schedule, walk-in
customers, and phone calls are answered.
Review work orders & ensure timely billing of customers.
Coordinate parts arrival times with shop repair times.
Quote service work and maintain a service log for jobs in shop and
jobs to be scheduled in shop when
Manage the schedule to accommodate "drive in" customers.
Responsible for working directly with the Service Clerk on the
average day/week on time
management for the shop.
Assist with Service Manager and Service Writers in estimating
incoming jobs, writing work orders,
closing work orders, ordering parts, coordinating parts arrival
times with scheduled jobs coming into
Report to Regional Service Manager the weekly events.
Oversee and advise on:
o Scheduling appointments
o Preparing service estimates
o Opening and closing of repair orders
o Phone calls and technical calls
o Greeting customers
o Building & maintenance
o Western Way pickup and delivery experience
Analyses and controls expenditures of the shop to conform to
Create a positive front office & shop environment to help all
incoming customers, employees, etc,
Supervise and lead in maintaining building and grounds to keeping
up a clean work environment.
Responsible for the safety all the service employees.
Responsible for the staffing, interviewing, screening and hiring of
Responsible for the performance evaluations, to develop and improve
the service functions.
Responsible to resolve any employee relation issues.
Promote branch harmony within the service department and all
departments within the branch and
HS Diploma or GED equivalency
5-10 years of experience managing a Service Dept. and/or working in
a Service Department.
Must be results-driven, highly energized, customer service oriented
Must have a passion for taking care of customers
Excellent organization skills and effective verbal and written
Proven record of success in management and a strong understanding
of semi-trailers repairs and
Possess ability to lead a Service team to top-level performance and
create an incredible customer
Ability to lead a large team and manage all repair orders
Microsoft Word and Excel skills
Previous experience a plus
