Job Description:
The interaction designer thrives on identifying opportunities
and generating solutions for people navigating information,
technology, and communication. The more gnarly and tangled the
opportunity space; the more engaged and enthusiastic the
interaction designer. They deploy user research to better
understand these spaces and to refine potential solutions. They
collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to execute the
traditional process of discover-design-deliver.Who We AreThis
position will work in Teague's Global Design Studio. GDS works in a
wide array of industries and opportunity spaces-from gestural user
interfaces for children to service design for government policies
to operating systems for space stations and everything in between.
We are a small and elite team, so GDS designers have deep design
expertise as much as they have resilient breadth to meet the wide
variety and deep complexity of projects. Our job is to push
boundaries every single day. Why We Need This Position Teague lives
by the quality of our designers. Without smart, dedicated, and
imaginative creators, we're simply not able to deliver on the wide
array of spaces in which we work.Who We're Looking ForYou are a
designer looking to hone your craft by experimenting with design
methods in wildly different contexts from one project to the next.
You are endlessly curious about people and technology, and it's a
little scary how quickly you pick up on new ideas. Your approach to
interaction design is resilient and faceted, because you understand
digital screens are only one of the ways people interact with the
world. You know user research, stakeholder workshops, and your
designerly intuition is how meaningful products and services are
identified and reborn. You are adept at connecting the dots from
research and can simultaneously entertain multiple, different
potential solutions and models. You also know when it is time to
make decisions and start doing. You believe in the power of
iteration, critique, and collaboration. When faced with ambiguity,
you rapidly sketch a breadth of potential solutions as a
sense-making activity. You understand that communicating design-and
its rationale-is just as important as the design itself, so you are
building a tool belt of different techniques for visualizing and
communicating potential solutions: sketching, wireframing, writing,
storyboarding, prototyping, coding, motion graphics, data
visualization, or some other form of magic.Skills & Experience
SummaryGenerally speaking, we find people that have anywhere from
one or more years of experience or a degree in a field related to
interaction design are good candidates. To be more specific, we are
looking for someone who checks a lot of the following boxes.
