is creating a new position to support and promote strategic
initiatives in the areas of institutional advancement, fundraising,
and development. - The Development Coordinator will collaborate
with Valley's Leadership Team and Board Philanthropy Committee to
strengthen connections, enhance fundraising capacity, and develop a
strong culture of philanthropy at the school. This position reports
to the Director of Admissions and Community Relations. -Essential
FunctionsThe Development Coordinator will be responsible for: -
-Strategic
- Developing and implementing programs and initiatives to expand
and strengthen the school's philanthropic capacity
- Collaborating with the school's various constituencies on
development and fundraising activities
- Educating the school community about the importance of
development and philanthropy
- Building strong relationships with current and past Valley
families and students
- In conjunction with the Leadership Team and appropriate Board
committees, setting annual and strategic budget goals for
fundraising
- Providing regular reports about fundraising to school
leadership and Board
- Fundraising
- In conjunction with the Philanthropy Committee, plan and
execute a spring fundraising event with a Fund-A-Need component

- Creating an opportunity for grandparents and extended families
to visit the school and be included in philanthropic outreach
efforts
- Guiding the implementation of the Annual Fund and future
capital and endowment campaigns
- Identifying and cultivating major donors
- Partnering with Families at Valley on philanthropic community
outreach activities -
- Monitoring online donations and reconciling donations with the
Business Office
- Assisting with matching donation information
- School Life
- Assisting with a variety of day-to-day school functions, such
as recess, lunch, and gate duties
- Attending Leadership Team, faculty, and other meetings as
directed
- Performing other duties as requested by the Director of
Admissions and Community Relations and Head of SchoolQualifications
- Successful candidates will have:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field of study
preferred -
- Experience fundraising, organizing events, and developing
programs that advance philanthropy
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively with
colleagues
- Skilled in managing projects and taking initiative
- Excellent people skills
- Experience working with Boards and community groups
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills, effective
presentation skills
- Experience using technology tools and digital platforms for
outreach, data management, and communication
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail, time
management skills, and consistent follow-through
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and justice and experience
working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
